Capricorn Full Moon Newsletter – June 30, 2007

This full moon, the sun is in Cancer, which is one of the most sensitive signs of the zodiac. This is the sign of our emotional body – it puts us in touch with our feeling nature. Cancer asks us to look at the feeling side of life. Are we in touch with our inner child? Are we happy? Are we growing? Are we enjoying our life? Of course, in order to be happy and to own and express our feelings, we have to break old unhappy childhood patterns that told us that feelings are uncomfortable and sensitivity, especially in men, is unthinkable! This full moon will give us a chance to leave behind these old patterns and get on with living. It is time to understand the lessons of our life and to begin to live our new lives to our own design, rather than some cultural standard that demands we give up our individuality and our souls.

In Esther and Jerry Hicks book, Ask and It is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires, the channeled beings they call Abraham says that once we have stated our intention or desires, the universe answers. But it is our feeling nature that indicates whether we are allowing or resisting our intentions from manifesting. If we feel angry, sad, insecure or hopeless, we are resisting it. If we feel joy and confidence, the universe’s answer will continue to come to us until it manifests. Just as a woman gives birth to her child, we can give birth to our desires, if we really want them! That’s the whole point. If we want something, but go back and forth emotionally about our ability to get it, it can’t come to birth. We miscarry it. But if we contemplate it and love it, like a child growing secretly beneath our hearts, when it is time, it will be born to us.

The Moon in Capricorn is a very serious moon. The sign of Capricorn begins on the darkest day of the year, Winter Solstice. Winter was a time of hardship, scarcity and being responsible with the resources at hand. Otherwise, the penalties were quick and often severe. So the Capricorn moon wants us to grow up, take responsibility for our lives, and make something of ourselves. “Capricorn demands maturity, rewards effort and teaches consequences; in return, it offers autonomy, integrity, and self-fulfillment.” (Stephanie Austin) Are we keeping our commitments to ourselves? Are we committed to our soul’s intentions? Do we recognize our own boundaries and limitations? We all have something special to offer the world, something uniquely our own. At this time in our history, we need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for our world.

This full moon, Mercury the planet of communication is still retrograde and close to the Sun. It’s a great time to communicate with our Higher Self and inner child to find out what really nurtures us. Mercury tells us that with our minds, we can travel between the conscious, unconscious and Imaginal realms, as well as between past, present and future. It is time to clean out the house and see things in a new light.

Venus is conjoined to Saturn in Leo, with Neptune opposite them in Aquarius. Venus is the first planet to join this major opposition that’s been happening all year. (Remember, the 3rd pass was last Monday.) So Venus will be the energy that carries the new vision forward. Venus in Leo says: I love myself. Saturn in Leo says: Have the confidence to do what you love. Neptune in Aquarius says: You are love and endless possibilities. You are Spirit as well as flesh. You are embodied Spirit. They all tell us the same story: Create the world you love!

The Sabian symbols for this Full Moon remind us that we can place our trust in the Spirit – for that is the only way to live.

9 Cancer; A small, naked girl bends over a pond trying to catch a fish – the first naïve quest for knowledge and for an ever-elusive understanding of life.

9 Capricorn: An angel carrying a harp – the revelation of the spiritual meaning and purpose at the core of any life situation.”

Our inner children know what this world is made for - love, curiousity, beauty, playfulness and joy. It's time to start playing!
